Big Data and IoT (the Internet of Things) are hot! With sensors that can be read remotely you get new opportunities to provide meaningful information about the environment. For example, with the eNose technology of Comon Invent, the release of gases in ambient air that can cause discomfort are be monitored. During this episode, eNose experts Simon Bootsma and Bianca Milan explain how the eNose technology is applied in the Rotterdam Port area. In the DCMR EPA Control Room a network of eNoses, the so called We-nose network of the Port of Rotterdam Authority, is monitored 24/7. Inspectors in the DCMR EPA control room and company operators use the eNose information in their daily tasks to help maintain a safe and healthy environment in and around the port area.
